Mom's Meatloaf

This recipe will take you back to your childhood, or maybe your last trip to Cracker Barrel. Nothing says love from the kitchen like a plate of homemade meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Thanks, Mom!

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs ground chuck
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 3 tbsp Worceshire Sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup Karo syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line 2 jelly roll pans with parchment paper.
  • Mix ground chuck, eggs, milk, bread crumbs, onion, ketchup, Worcestershire Sauce, salt and pepper with your hands and shape into loaves, about 1 inch thick.
  • Bake for 1 to 1 and a half hours.
  • Remove from oven and transfer loaves to second jelly roll pan.
  • Baste with ketchup and Karo mixture and return to oven for 15 minutes.
  • Slice and enjoy with mashed potatoes.
